Business Evaluation

We conducted a business evaluation on behalf of Veronis Suhler Associates and its wholly owned subsidiary, Hanley Wood Publishing. The business evaluation focused on a proposed partnership between Hanley Wood and Channelinx Corporation.

The purpose of the partnership was to unite Hanley Wood's expertise in the construction industry with the technology of Channelinx to establish a business-to-business exchange serving construction companies. Channelinx technology includes a set of workflow tools for constructing an e-commerce web site, as well as technology for linking the order processing systems of multiple product suppliers into the exchange.

We evaluated the overall quality of the Channelinx company, reviewing its technology, product features, best practices and the quality of its technical team. We also evaluated the Channelinx product against several competitors in the construction industry. We measured the ability of Hanley Wood to deliver its editorial content online and the challenges that would be faced by integrating this editorial content with the Channelinx technology.

Our evaluation was conducted during a visit to Channelinx headquarters. We produced an extensive written report to Veronis Suhler and Hanley Wood, and attended face-to-face meetings at the Veronis Suhler office to discuss our conclusions. As a follow up, we participated in numerous telephone conferences to consider the specific parameters and the value of the potential investment to Veronis Suhler and Hanley Wood.
